Postnatal health and wellbeing for  Mother and Baby

Whether this is your first baby, or you have been pregnant and birthed before, it can be re-assuring to know that you have holistic, professional and dedicated help by your side.

We can support you in making the decision on whether homebirth is right for you and help partners and family members understand the homebirth experience.

Central Coast Homebirth want women and their families to feel nurtured, safe, and supported. With a combined 20 years’ experience in midwifery, across the UK and Australia, practising independently and within the private and public sectors, we believe Mothers need and want regular visits until birth. Those visits are also from a midwife who has got to know you and your pregnancy. We also ensure prompt tests and follow ups if needed. Importantly, you will also have 24/7 midwife care on call when it’s getting close to arrival.  These are just some of the benefits a homebirth midwife can provide.

Individualised care is at the forefront in how we operate at Central Coast Homebirth. Continuity of care is the key to a calm and safe home birth.  We monitor you and your baby.  We help answer all those questions you have and support you with any concerns for the entire period of your pregnancy, labour and after birth. There is a wealth of information out there, which can be overwhelming, we cut through that to provide you with the support and resources that are right for you.

If you’re here, it is likely that you already know some of the benefits of birthing at home. We do, and we care deeply about providing the right care tailored to your needs. We can work with you and your family to discuss the benefits and process of homebirth.

Research supports that birthing at home can provide the perfect environment for you and your body to welcome your baby into the world. It can keep those all-important hormones, oxytocin and adrenaline balanced and working in a natural way. Starting this way can also help the transition physically and emotionally to becoming a Mother. Sometimes the plan may need to change but we will work with you and your family to ensure your birth is still guided by you.  Your homebirth midwife will ensure you are provided with the appropriate care you need during pregnancy and labour but also support you in any decisions on your birth journey. We will be by your side during and after birth. Our care will continue for breastfeeding, postpartum recovery and baby/mother care
